Carbon Removal through Biochar from Rubber Seed Shells
Innovare’s biorefinery process generates high-quality biochar from rubber seed shells (RSS), creating a verified pathway for carbon dioxide removal (CDR). By transforming agricultural waste into stable carbon storage, we enable organizations to achieve their net-zero commitments while supporting sustainable development in Southeast Asian rubber-producing communities.
How Our Carbon Credits Work
From Waste to Carbon Sink
Natural rubber plantations generate millions of tons of rubber seeds annually, with the shells typically left to decompose—releasing CO₂ back into the atmosphere. Our patented pyrolysis technology converts these shells into biochar, a highly stable form of carbon that can remain sequestered in soil for hundreds to thousands of years.
The Carbon Removal Process
- Collection: Rubber seed shells are collected from our network of rubber plantations in Thailand and Southeast Asia
- Pyrolysis: Shells undergo controlled thermal conversion at our biorefinery facilities
- Biochar Production: The process yields high-carbon biochar with stable molecular structure
- Application: Biochar is applied to agricultural soils, providing dual benefits of carbon sequestration and soil improvement
- Verification: Carbon removal is measured, reported, and verified (MRV) through established carbon credit standards
